Getting Cydia errors on your iPhone 7, Plus and iPad running jailbreak iOS 10.1.1 or iOS 10.2? It is because of outdated Cydia substrate version. For those who do not know, Cydia Substrate is like heart of Cydia that keeps it running. The main brain behind this tweak is also Saurik, who is founder of jailbreak store.
This is first ever jailbreak tool from Team Yalu, so lots of bugs and errors were expected. But nothing like such a surprise entry was not expected. Saurik was also not informed about iOS 10.2 jailbreak release. Apart from him, major developers also failed to make their tweaks updated on time to support Yalu jailbreak. Recently we shared about AppSync Unified for iOS 10, another important Cydia tweak.
Yalu developers may have thought that releasing their tool all of sudden will get them good response as no one was expecting iOS 10.2 jailbreak. However, it backfired. Though the jailbreak got appreciation, but its compatibility with major tweaks important to keep iPhone and iPad running raised lot of questions.
How to Fix Cydia Substrate Error in iOS 10.1.1 and iOS 10.2
While we are yet to get official version of Cydia Substrate for iOS 10.2, someone has released a fix that claims to solve the issue. Please note that this is not official release, so it may cause problems on your iPhone. We recommend waiting for Saurik to fix Cydia Substrate while you can download MovieBox without jailbreak.
If you have not yet jailbroken your iPhone on iOS 10.2, follow this guide. Once done with jailbreak, if you are also facing Cydia Substrate issue, follow the steps below:
- Launch the Yalu Mach_Portal.
- When it is opened, load Cydia.
- Now you need to add repo to your Cydia.
- Add ijapija00/cydia repo and refresh it.
- Close Cydia and launch it again.
- When it is refreshed, search for Substrate Fix (iOS 10) and install it.
- Reboot your iPhone or iPad in question.
Hopefully you will not face any issue with your iOS 10.2 jailbreak on iPhone after trying this fix.
